Louisiana Cowboy Dogs Recipe

This is one hot dog recipe that will definitely never get old when planning your summer BBQs. Our Louisiana cowboy dogs are super easy to make and are the perfect meal for your BBQ guests.

Whether you like your hot dogs plain or you want to load them with toppings like carrots, onions and bacon, this is a great recipe for kids and grown-ups alike. And don't forget to add your favourite French's Classic Yellow Mustard to liven up the taste.

80 ml dill pickle juice
15 ml granulated sugar
280 g coleslaw with extra carrots
4 dill pickle spears, thinly sliced
58 g thinly sliced red onion, (optional)
160 ml French’s® Louisiana Hot & Spicy BBQ Sauce or any flavour
120 ml French’s® Classic Yellow® Mustard
8 bun length hot dogs, grilled
8 hot dog buns, toasted

Preparation Method

  • COMBINE pickle juice and sugar in medium bowl.
  • ADD coleslaw, pickles and red onion and toss to coat.
  • COMBINE BBQ Sauce and Mustard and set aside.
  • SPREAD each bun with about 2 tablespoon BBQ mixture.
  • TOP with hot dog, and slaw mixture.
  • SERVE with additional French's Mustard and enjoy your delicious Louisiana cowboy dogs.
